John Walker- Executive Director

I began my journey at the Nikiski Senior Center in 2023 as the Administrative Assistant and was appointed Executive Director in July 2025. Although I am still relatively new to Alaska, having moved here in 2010, I have embraced the state as my home. Growing up as a “Navy brat” and later serving in the Navy myself, I have a diverse background.

Social services is my third career, and I have finally discovered my passion. Prior to this, I worked as a maintenance mechanic before earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Missouri Southern State University. I spent four years as a health and safety inspector, specializing in food safety, and I later started my own food safety training and consulting business.

I genuinely enjoy working in nonprofits, particularly with seniors. The relationships I have built over the years are some of the most meaningful highlights of my life.

I am the Maintenance/Janitor at the Nikiski Senior Center.  I have been doing this job for about 7 years now and enjoy everyone I work with.  Over the years, I have met a lot of interesting people and like to help the seniors that come to the center.  I hope to continue meeting and helping more seniors for many years to come.

Dani Kebschull

My name is Dani Kebschull and I’m the new Program Coordinator for the Kenai Peninsula Family Caregiver Support Program (KPFCSP), a State grant from the Senior and Disabilities Services. This grant is near and dear to my heart, having worked in the program for over 9 years at the Soldotna location. Now it’s back and better than ever before right here at the Nikiski Senior Center!

I’ve lived in Soldotna nearly all my life, gone to elementary school, the first “junior high, the only high school then, KCHS, and received an AAS in Human Services and a BA in Anthropology at the Kenai Peninsula College. My husband and I were married in 1977 (in Soldotna!)  I have seen many changes to the Peninsula and in the grant program.

Nicole Lockner

Hi, I’m Nicole Lockner. I’ve lived in Alaska my entire life and moved to Kenai in 2019, where I met and married my husband, Bill. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I discovered a love for crocheting that quickly grew from a hobby into a passion—and eventually, a small business. I specialize in crocheting plushies and truly enjoy the connections I make with people, especially when they stop by my booth at the Wednesday Market. Seeing their joy makes every stitch worth it.

In January, Bill and I began our journey as therapeutic foster parents, which has been both humbling and deeply meaningful. Shortly after, in February, I stepped into a new chapter professionally as the Outreach Specialist at NSC. I’ve always had a heart for helping others, and this role allows me to finally feel at home—doing work that not only aligns with my values but also allows me to use my strengths in a way that’s rewarding and fulfilling.

Amy Spencer- Front Desk

Hi, I’m Amy Spencer. I moved to Alaska in 2009, which is also the time when I met my hubby of 15 years now. We have 3 beautiful giant Alaskan Malamutes: Sargent Boo Boo, Deska, and Denali, the youngest. As for hobbies, I love making jewelry, collecting rocks, and making bread from scratch. As well as spending time with my Hubby, Billy.

Toni Loop- Activity Coordinator

I have lived in Nikiski since 1997. I love working with the seniors. I am a 4-H leader and Board of Director for Nikiski Community Council. I have three teenage boys and a wonderful husband.
